On 9 Feb 2018, 21 migration students were taken to nearby tribal colony in connection with Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat activity –II Quarter. They interacted with the tribal people. They collected the details about their life style, source of water, cultivation, natural threats from wild animals, views about their change from traditional to modern life, materials used to make in building houses. The visit helped them to know about the customs and traditions of the tribals of Wayanad, which was really informative.

In connection with the visit of Sri. S. Shankar, Deputy Secretary, Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat  Ministry of HRD, Govt of India and Ms. Aparna Mishra, Asst Section Officer, Higher education, MHRD a cultural programme was organized on 13/02/2018 in which both migrations students as well as local students participated enthusiastically. The students were given proper training by Mr. Mathews, Wayanad Nattukootam. This performance helped them to learn more about the origin of the  dance form, the traditional instruments used, song which accompanies it and costumes. They also understood that this dance form was performed during their divine worship, marriage ceremonies, and agricultural activities sowing, planting, reaping and harvesting. Students really enjoyed the performance and they were able to experience the real customs and traditions of tribals of Wayanad.

A pahadi song  was taught to the local students by the migration students from JNV, Nainital, which helped them to strengthen their bond of love and friendship. The theme of the song was about the Himalayan mountains and valleys, local temples and dieties, villages and people.

A patriotic song in regional language was sung by migration students, which helped them to realise that inspite of our diversities we all are one.
